Medical Supplies Shipment — Diocese of Techiman

In 2025, a 20-foot container of medical supplies and equipment was shipped to various hospitals and clinics in the Diocese of Techiman to support healthcare in rural areas of Ghana. These vital supplies were provided by MercyOne Hospital through the initiative of Director of Missions Melissa Sprenger and other dedicated MercyOne staff in Dubuque, Iowa.

When the medical supplies arrived in Ghana, the Bishop personally received them and distributed them to the various Catholic hospitals, clinics, and health centres across the diocese — ensuring that life-saving equipment reached the communities that needed it most.

This project was driven by the generosity of MercyOne Hospital and the tireless efforts of Director of Missions Melissa Sprenger and her colleagues. Their commitment to global health equity made it possible to fill an entire shipping container with medical supplies destined for some of Ghana's most underserved communities.

Already the site of our new operating theatre project, St. Theresa Hospital received additional medical equipment to complement its expanded surgical capacity.

Our Lady of Fatima Health Centre

Abease

A frontline community health centre serving rural populations, receiving supplies to strengthen primary care and maternal health services.
